The Four Stages of Spiritual Growth

1. Salvation — Our Born‑Again Spiritual State

Salvation is the beginning of everything. When we accept Jesus as Savior, we are born again — made spiritually alive and brought into right standing with God. This is not behavior change; it is identity change. A brand‑new spiritual life begins.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” —

2 Corinthians 5:17

2. Relationship — Becoming God’s Children

After salvation, we enter into a new relationship with God — not as distant believers, but as His children. We are legally and spiritually adopted into His family. Relationship means belonging. It means we are loved, accepted, and welcomed as sons and daughters of the King.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” — John 1:12.

3. Fellowship — Walking Daily With God

Fellowship is the daily experience of walking with God — talking with Him, listening to Him, and growing through His Word. Fellowship strengthens our faith, shapes our character, and connects us with other believers who encourage us along the way.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8

.

4. Lordship — Surrendering to Christ’s Leadership

Lordship is where spiritual maturity deepens. It is choosing to let Jesus guide our decisions, shape our attitudes, and direct our purpose. As we surrender more fully to Him, we begin to reflect His heart in our actions, attitudes, and relationships.

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:6

My Heart for You

Maturing with Grace was written to help you grow gently, steadily, and confidently in your walk with Christ. No matter where you are in your journey, God is shaping you with love, patience, and purpose.

You are not alone. You are growing. And God is with you every step of the way.
